ABOUT 2018 CHAPTER / SEMI-FINAL / LPGA AMATEURS CHAMPIONSHIP

LPGA AMATEUR GOLF ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP

Stages:
  • The Chapter Championship, an 18-hole local qualifying round held at each Chapter location, San Diego location Sycuan Golf Resort, 3007 Dehesa Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019, April 28, 2018
  • The Semi-Final Championship, an 18-hole round will be held at the Santa Barbara Golf Club, Santa Barbara CA, June 9, 2018
  • The LPGA Amateurs Championship Finals, a two-day, 36 hole event held in Innisbrook Resort, Palm Harbor FL, Oct 12-13, 2018

The LPGA Amateur Golf Association Championship offers two different competitive formats: Stroke Play Competition and Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition. You select the competitive format that best fits your game, personality and skill level.

STROKE PLAY COMPETITION

Stroke play competitors play in one of five flights at the Chapter Championship qualifying event based upon their USGA Handicap Index.

Championship 0.0 to 10.0
First 10.1 to 17.0
Second 17.1 to 24.0
Third 24.1 to 32.0
Fourth 32.1 to 40.4

 

TEAM SCRAMBLE

Chapter scramble teams consist of four (4) women who meet the eligibility requirements to play in the LPGA Amateurs Championship.  The team “handicap factor” is established based on the USGA Handicap Index of all four players.

The Team Computation Factor must fall in the range of +2 and -5 at time of Chapter Championship registration.  Teams with a Team Handicap that is great than +2 will not be eligible to complete.  Teams with a Team Handicap less than -5 may compete but the Team Handicap must remain at -5.  Only one member of the team shall have a handicap index of 12.0 or less as of the handicap cut-off date for the Chapter Championship.


TO QUALIFY, LPGA AMATEURS MEMBERS MUST:

• Follow the registration guidelines distributed by your local Chapter

• Be a female, LPGA Amateur Golf Association member in good standing*

• Have a verifiable USGA Handicap Index and have an equivalent of two 18-hole scores posted to your handicap record in the current year, prior to the handicap cut-off date for their respective Chapter Championship

• Be an amateur golfer as defined by USGA Rules of Amateur Status

ABOUT 2019 CALIFORNIA CUP

CALIFORNIA CUP

The 12th Annual California Cup Match Play event will be held the weekend of May 3rd – 5th , 2019 (location TBD). The format is match play, Day 1 either partner fourball (better ball) or foursomes (alternate shot), Day 2 singles.

The San Diego Chapter is using qualifier events to field the 2019 California Cup event. The first qualifier event will be held December 16, 2018 at the Vineyard Golf Club from 10am to 3pm. ABOUT 2018 LPGA AMATEUR CUP QUALIFIER / NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

LPGA AMATEUR CUP

The LPGA Amateur Cup is an amateur match play competition conducted under the direction of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association Headquarters. Competition is conducted in two stages of play:

  • Cup Qualifier– 18 holes of Four-Ball* and 18 holes of Singles** completed over 2 days to determine the teams that will advance to The Cup Finals. Qualifiers will be held on September 8-9, 2018, Mission Hills Resort, Rancho Mirage California or Heron Lakes, Portland Oregon.
  • National Championship - The Cup Finals– 18 holes of Four-Ball* and 18 holes Singles** completed over 2 days to be held at Horseshoe Bay Resort, Horseshoe Bay, TX on Nov 2-3, 2018.

The 2018 team(s) will be fielded by both the competitive ladder and any LPGA Amateurs member that would like to assemble a team of 8.  If you would like to captain a team and don’t have 8 players, please contact Susan Crawford at scrawf@outlook.com and she will assist you.

All players who wish to compete in the LPGA Amateur Cup must meet the eligibility requirements.
